A company that builds its own tools

Ready Design is the web side of Ready Design and Technology Ltd, founded in 2008 and based in Bicester, Oxfordshire. We design and build websites and web applications, and we manage the domains, email and security that sit behind them.

The company has an IT support arm too, trading as ReadyTec. Same company, same people, different front door, which is why a client who came to us for a website often ends up asking us about their email, and why that is not an awkward conversation.

You deal with the people who do the work. Whoever you speak to has seen your systems before, so you are not describing your setup from scratch to somebody meeting it for the first time. Work does get passed between us. The point is that it is passed between people who already know you, not into a queue.

The thing that most distinguishes what we do is that we built our own content management system and we run it ourselves. Client sites are on it, including this one. It means there is no third-party plugin ecosystem in your website to go unmaintained, and when the system needs to do something new that is a job we can take on rather than a limit you have to work around.

Who Ready Design work with

Small and medium-sized businesses, from a one-person studio to companies with staff across several sites. The sectors we work in most are:

  • Insurance and financial services
  • Building design and construction
  • Property development and estate agencies
  • Transportation and logistics
  • Charities and not-for-profits
  • Sole traders and small creative businesses

That list is not aspirational. Every sector on it is one we have clients in now, not one we would like to be in.

Some clients come to us for a single project. Others have been with us for over a decade. If you are a sole trader who needs a website that works, or a growing company that needs a system building and then actually maintaining, both are familiar ground.

No job is too small, and nobody is turned away for being the wrong size. Sole traders, charities, clubs, and people who are not a business at all are all welcome. A one-page site for a single person is a perfectly good reason to call, and so is a system that will take months. If we are genuinely the wrong people for something, we will say so and try to point you somewhere better, but that is about the work, never about how big you are.
